Primary Goal: Environmental Friendliness
An overriding goal of the Nano Tekon product line is to be
environmentally friendly. This is
primarily achieved by employing nano-technology surface treatments that are permanently affixed. Applied once, these products remain in
place and provide permanent cleaning and sanitizing solution. In contrast, most surface treatments involve chemicals that are
effective for a short period of time, but then leach away, contaminating the
environment and the water system.
These treatments can include bleaches, lead, mercury, antiseptics, and
an endless variety of chemically manufactured active compounds. These substances perform their function by
chemically reacting with the various contaminants, which can result in
worrying byproducts. If they leach
away before reacting, these compounds can later react with unintended
targets, like human skin and organs. Specifically,
Nano Tekon’s antimicrobial
solution utilizes permanently
affixed molecular spears that pierce and destroy bacteria, viruses, odors, mold,
mildew, allergens, fungi, algae and yeasts on a wide variety of treated
surfaces – providing a safe and sanitary environment. Without the Nano Tekon
antimicrobial solution, a variety of chemical cleaning and antiseptic
compounds would have to be repeatedly applied, at regular intervals.
Nano
Tekon’s treatment for creating self-cleaning surfaces involves the use of a permanent application of TiO2
(titanium dioxide) – the harmless base of most modern paints. The TiO2 acts as a catalyst,
breaking down (oxidizing) the organic compounds that dirt / grime, bacteria,
viruses, mold, algae, mildew and oils are composed of. This done, the remaining particulates fall
away, or are washed away by rain or a quick spray of water. Without the Nano Tekon TiO2
solution, a variety of chemical cleaning compounds would have to be
repeatedly applied, at regular intervals.
Nano
Tekon’s sealants for glass and
natural stone create a permanent
smooth surface that fills pores in the underlying material. In this manner, it prevents the build up of
dirt and grime in these pores. In the
case of glass, this also prevents spotting and streaking. Without this preventative treatment, a
variety of chemical cleaning compounds would have to be repeatedly applied,
at regular intervals.
All
of Nano Tekon’s products require significantly
less water usage for ongoing cleaning and maintenance, which is itself an
important environmental outcome.
